Musical Instruction by Singing Lemur®

About Rollande Krandall and Singing Lemur

Rollande Krandall has been performing music professionally since the 1980s, when she spent several years working the Renaissance Faire circuit. Since then she has taken the time to return to college and complete her degree (B. Mus.) in classical music composition. Since the early 1990s she has also been known as the "Singing Lemur," both for gigs (Singing LemurTM Productions) and writing (Singing Lemur® Publications/Press). Her specialties are in the traditional musics of the world, with an emphasis on the ballads of Great Britain and Ireland, but a range extending to classical music, Gilbert and Sullivan, and some of the exciting traditionally inspired music now coming out of Scandanavia and Eastern Europe. She sings (soprano), plays the mandolin and ocarina as primary instruments, and the bodhran (Irish drum), recorder, and piano secondarily.

Presently, most of her time is spent not in performance but in developing ideas for musical instruction, in musical composition, and in the not-directly-musical arts of jewelry making (lampworked glass beads and cast & fabricated metals; see "Lemur Beads"TM by Singing LemurTM and Singing LemurTM Jewelry).
