About Rollande Krandall and Singing Lemur

Rollande Krandall began her career not as a jeweler but as a musician. In the early 1980s, she spent several years working the Renaissance Faire circuit, and has performed widely, specializing in the traditional musics of the world with an emphasis on the ballads of Great Britain and Ireland. From the early 1990s she has been known as the "Singing Lemur." Since then she has taken the time to return to college and complete her degree (B. Mus.) in classical music composition. She publishes a booklet of instruction for the ocarina. Presently, most of her musical time is spent not in performance but in composition and in developing ideas for musical instruction.

Since the early 2000s, she has been developing a second career in the design and fabrication of jewelry. Her first work has been the flameworking of glass beads (see Lemur BeadsTM by Singing LemurTM), which are presently available for sale at local galleries. She has studied glassworking both independently and in classes from noted authorities such as Jim Smircich. She has studied metal casting in silver and bronze with Hans Ruebel at the Toledo Museum of Art.

All of her jewelry work is by commission (except for Lemur Beads). She may be contacted by mail only (please!) at:
